The Financial Conduct Authority confirmed widespread evidence of Discretionary Commission Arrangements (DCAs) — a practice where dealers were secretly incentivised to inflate interest rates at the expense of the customer. Many people paid hundreds or thousands more than they should have, with no knowledge of what was happening.
